View Full Version : Read Only Issue?

I have an issue that I am not sure if it is related to the XP "read only"
check box showing or not.
Situation is this:
2000 domain - mostly w2k clinets with 5 or 6 XP machines.

Just upgraded one of the developers - she has a problem that did not exist
on 2000.

She has a shared directory (everyone has full control) which hold
PowerBuilder8 source code. When they are doing work in PowerBuilder they
access the folder, pulling lines of source off one of the files.
Now she is on XP, and gets an "access is denied" error.
Only thing we saw differently is that now she can see the grey checkbox that
states "read only".
She can browse to the folder, create a new folder, save files there.
Everything but run the PowerBuilder code.

What could have changed? Is it worth it to remove the attrib function and
get rid of the "read only sign"?

Any ideas? I am stumped.

It may be related to the problem I'm having. See my post "Bug Accessing
Network Files" and see if the developer can recreate my problem. I'm also
seeking a solution.

Thanks,
