I was using AutoCAD 2002LT when the computer froze and then restarted. When
it restarted, the monitor was only showing 4 bit colour. I tried to restore
the settings from the previous day, but now the computer will not go beyond
the Windows XP is loading screen. Just before the login screen appears, the
computer clicks and starts to reboot. It then goes into a continuous loop of
doing the above over and over. The only way to stop the loop, is to unplug
the cpu. How can I fix this without reformatting the cpu, I have too many
important files and drawings on the cpu that I can't lose.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Hey everyone

I know you will all have a good time with this one. I
know I can reformat the c: drive to fix this problem, but
I am trying to avoid that at all costs. here is the
problem:

My computer froze in Windows for the first time that I
can remember of. I went to reboot, and invalid system
disk or disk error....

Booted with a floppy and checked the c: drive. All files
are there, ran full scandisk, fixed a few minor issues,
replaced the ntldr and ntdetect.com files, and still
nothing. I created a boot disk set with Microsoft's
tool, and when it gets to the point of possibly starting
the setup once again, I get this error message:

"File \biosinfo.inf could not be loaded. The error code
is 4096

Setup could not continue. Press any key to exit."

I have never saw this before, and I searched the internet
for it, and nothing. I tried replacing the bios file on
the harddrive with a working copy, but still nothing. I
tried fdisking the mbr, nothing. I tried reinstalling
from the cd, and it says:

"Setup was unable to install Windows Boot Loader.

Ensure that your C: drive is formatted and that the drive
is not damaged.

Setup cannot continue. Press ENTER to exit."

Please, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You Very Much and Take Care.
