Bad windows update "bug"

have discovered a bad "windows update" .. I recommend
not to update it... if you dare to anyway..you will have
to run windows restore to get your regular system back.
What it does is slow your system down considerably....
anything relating to explorer.. which is most things in
windows.

if you are one that goes to windows update and keeps your
computer current with the updates.. here is the name of
the one you DON'T want to update..

in Microsoft Windows )

Avoid updating that one!!!

I did a system restore yesterday, and can remember seeing that one listed in
the critical updates. I have noticed my system running slowly.
but when i run system restore i dont see that question number listed.
I have:

811493
331953
814033
329441
Window Update V4
DX 9.0

What should i do?

There's absolutely NOTHING WRONG with Q817287.
Q811493 is the one to avoid - or uninstall if it's already downloaded and
you have those symptoms.

I have Q811493. But the prob is that i installed DX 9.0 just after I
installed that so called 'fix'. Is there a way to remove 811493 and keep
DX9.0??
Hope so anyway.
