I have a Netgear MR814 router with a built in firewall,
am having trouble getting voice and video to work from
inside my network. The router has the latest firmware
which now includes UPnP support. By default it is set to
a 30 minute advertistement window with a 4 hop time to
live. I always want to initiate the voice or video from
my computer, not accept when initiated from the outside.
When i try to initiate a voice or video connection from
my Windows XP pro system it says "connecting to
*usernames* computer" hangs there for about 30 seconds
and then fails. I am trying to avoid at all costs
placing my system into the DMZ as it basically negates
the firewall. Is there a current list of ports that must
be opened even if the call is initiated from inside the
firewall? Thank you for any help i can get
