Hi,
The CD burning feature on my machine mysteriously stopped working recently.
The odd thing is that when I burn a CD, the machine performs the burning
process normally and throws no errors whatsoever, and the resulting burned
CD exhibits a visible "burned" area on its underside. However, Windows
does not recognize the CD to contain any files, even after rebooting.
My system configuration is:
- Windows XP Pro
- CD burner: Samsung CD-R/CD-RW SW-212B, connected using an external USB
2.0 enclosure
It operated correctly with this configuration for a long time--that is, the
problem is not associated with a hardware or configuration change.
Possibly relevant info: shortly before the issue arose, I unplugged my USB
2.0 hub (into which the burner is plugged) from my machine and plugged it
back in, possibly into another slot in the adapter card (I didn't see which
slots were used before and after). I have since tried plugging the hub
into every slot on the adapter card, to no avail.
Using other CD software is not really an option, since none seem to support
filenames over 64 letters, whereas XP does this perfectly.
Please advise, TIA!!
