I have a lot of tape-tape reels and 33 1/3 records I'd
like to copy to CD's. Would appreciate suggestions on the
best way to accomplish this.

There are a number of things you might use to record the files, but it depends
on the format you want for the cd. WAV, MP3, WMP, etc.

The basic trick you want to know can be illustrated with a wav. Open
sndrec32.exe, and create a blank one minute wav file, then save it. Open a new
file, and use the menu to insert the saved wav as many times as you want that
wav to last in minutes, and save it. Now open sndvol32.exe, and go to Options,
Properties, dot the 'recording', and OK, to check 'line in' or whatever is
appropriate for the input of the tape. (scroll box). then OK, to see the slider
for line in, and the 'select' checkbox.

With all this done, you start recording over the long saved wav, and play the
tape. MP3 recording, or Media Player recording work about the same way, (except
for the insertion hack on the one minute limit of sndrec32.)
