MSN Messenger/WinXP messenger compatibility

Hi,

My mother has a WIN 98 machine with MSN Messenger 5.0. I can't get it to
talk to my WIN XP messenger. Is it compatible?

Hello Phil,

I don't think whether there is any clash between messengers. As long as
you are using the right software (not corrupted) and good net connection,
you
don't have to worry.

From my point of view there is no software named "WIN XP messenger". It is
Windows messenger. If the problem persists download MSN IM 5.0 on your
system.

It also gets rid of pop ups messages during Windows start up (that a new
version is available)
