My wife keeps getting nagged to upgrade the Windows Messenger on her XP
computer. Seems there was some problem with the newer version, so have not
downloaded. Is there a problem and if so, what?

Greetings Joel,

I don't know of any specific problem, the only thing I could think of is it automatically
logs in when MSN Messenger 5 is installed as well (the previous versions didn't do this) --
but if MSN Messenger 5 isn't installed, it's not an issue.

If after you update it on her PC, and there's some type of problem, you can always just use
System Restore to go back to the older version.
