If you figure it out please share. I'm having the same
problem. there are messages in here that talk about your
router and some special settings you need to make on it.
I don't use a router and I still have problem (unless
mindspring has a router someplace I don't know about). I
too have dsl I use Norton systemworks and internet
security for a firewall, you might want to be sure you
have the xp stock firewall turned off as that will
definetely stop file transfers unless you open up the
ports. I have the problem with icq, aim, yahoo, none of
them will transfer files-says something about can't create
a peer to peer connection sometimes. I thought maybe it
was just a xp to windows 98 thing but it also happens with
other xp machines (my ex has a windows xp home edition box
that I built for him and I have xp professional and we
can't transfer files either).
