when connecting to net my windows take ages to open and
shut down.have tried restore and deleting unwanted files
but still no use

Hi Thomas,

I would run msconfig to see what programs and services are being loaded.
I have loaded a number of programs that reside in the system tray. It
has definitely slowed down both my start up and shutdown. For me the
extra 2 - 3 minutes to load is not an issue. To a lot of people, that
load time would be unacceptable.

So when in msconfig, be sure you don't NEED the service or program that
you are disabling.
