It has options to format your harddrive during the installation process
when you boot up with the XP disk.

You can if you want, the XP installation can either upgrade your existing
windows installation or format and clean install - of course, if it is the
upgrade version of XP, you will need a qualifying media, ie win9x or ME cd
rom to insert for validation, to perform a format and clean install.
