Can't stop email alerts

Messenger keeps giving me alerts about emails I have
received, despite the fact I have chosen NOT to have them
sent. Anyone else had this problem? Any solutions?

Greetings Jo Anne,

Unfortunately that option doesn't work in Windows Messenger -- to turn off the e-mail alerts,
assuming you're using Windows Messenger 4.6 or later, just turn off the MSN Add-In. To do
so, open up the main Messenger window, click the Tools menu, then Add-Ins, and then choose
MSN.
