msn disapears

please help, when i shut msn down from my desk top, i
loose the icon from my task bar. then i have to re sign
in.
any ideas please....pete

Greetings Pete,

I assume you mean you're pressing the 'X' in the main Messenger window? If so, If you're
using Windows Messenger 4.x, open the main Messenger, click the Tools menu, then Options,
then Preferences tab, and verify that 'Allow this program to run in the background' is
checked.

If you're using MSN Messenger 5, just right-click the MSN Messenger 5 icon in the
notification area (system tray -- by the clock), choose Exit, then download and run the
following .reg files:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/downloads/msn5_runbackground.reg

After running/importing, click Start, then (All) Programs, MSN Messenger 5 to restart MSN
Messenger 5. When you click the 'X' now, it should just go down the taskbar as it should.
