I am trying to create a Direct Network Connection between 2 PCs to
transfer files. I have a USB crossover cable.
I click on network connections in the control panel, select New
Connection Wizard, then select "setup an advanced connection", then I
select "connect directly to another computer", but it only gives me
the choice of a parellel port connection or Serial port connection.
Can anyone instruct me how to get Windows XP to offer me a USB
connection between the two PCs?
Thanks

?!

He said "I have a USB crossover cable".

Marcus, you should have received a driver disc with that cable
with instructions similar to the Net-LinQ ones at
http://www.mcauley.org.uk/wown/J_HELMIG/wxpusbin.htm
If it is a Net-LinQ, the drivers can be found at http://tinyurl.com/2v70

Aye that he did mate. But that could mean anything couldn't it? If he
responds, "Hey man, I've got one of those already" then that means something
doesn't it? I've got three "crossover cords" but they just connect to
peripherals, they do not have the "special circuitry" that the links point
to built in. Wouldn't he have tried the software that comes with them if he
knew enough to buy the correct cable to begin with?

Good point. I'll go get my USB crossover cable and then his
system will work.
