Updates not working.

For some odd reason, whenever I try to install Direct X
9.0a, FROM THE OFFICAL WEBSITE, it says and I quote "The
software you are installing has not passed Windows Logo
testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP. The
software will not be installed. Contact your system
administrator.


I even went to options and told it to "ignore" such a
thing, but still, the same message. Oddly enough this
happens for updates from Windows Update as well. Any
help, please?
