I continue to suffer from intermittant although now more
frequent screen "hangs" and system lock ups. The screen
hangs keyboard mouse etc all non responsive. All I can do
is a hard re-boot. On re-boot I get no error mesages or
scandisk activity. Previously I was advised to check the
event viewer this suggested some problems with Zone Alarm
& Win Amp now since removed. Event viewer gives me no
idea what is causing the "hangs" the event ID's always
come back with "No more info found" which seems to make
the whole thing useless! Please can anyone siggest how I
can interrogate or set up a warning when
these "unexplaned" crashes occur. Thanx in advance for
any help. Yours gratefully - Carl

Start the operating system from the CD-ROM,

When the computer starts from the CD, the system checks your hardware

and then prompts you to select one of the following options:

To set up Windows XP now, press ENTER.

To repair a Windows XP installation using Recovery Console, press R.

To quit Setup without installing Windows XP, press F3.

Press ENTER.

Press F8 to accept the Licensing Agreement.

A box lists your current Windows XP installation, and then the system

prompts you to select one of the following options:

To repair the selected Windows XP installation, press R.

To continue installing a fresh copy of Windows XP without repairing, press ESC.

Press R to start the automatic repair process. After repairing Windows XP,

you may need re-download all updates.
