we have installed instant messaging on exchange 2000 for
office use. Though all the machines are on the same
network and i am able to sign-in from a windows 98
machine, i am unable to do so frm any XP machine !
In case of windows 98 we edit the host file with the IP
address of the exchange server. What to do in case of XP?

Greetings,
Have you tried adding it to the host file in Windows XP?
To edit the host file, click Start, then Run, enter:
notepad %systemroot%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
and click OK.
