View Full Version : Offline folders recovery

Over the past two weeks I have been making changes to my
home network. During that time I was unable to
synchronize my offline folders, so a number of my critical
files were current only on my laptop.

When I finished the process, I had created a new domain,
but I neglected to back up my offline folders before
removing the laptop from the old domain and adding it to
the new one. Now when I try to connect to the offline
folder (which I re-mapped) I am told that the network
connection is already in use.

One problem is that the old and new domain names are the
same. I am also logging in using the same username.

I made a copy of my XP profile before I made the switch.
I have since copied all of the folders into my newly
created profile for the new domain.

I need to find a way to recover just a few of the files in
the offline folder. I assume that the data is still on
the laptop, just not in readable form. Is there any way
that anyone knows of to recover this data? I do not have
the option of reattaching the laptop to the old domain
since it has been replaced. The backed up data from the
old domain still exists, but is about two weeks older than
the data that is on the latptop.

Any help is appreciated!

Dave
