Could we have an answer to the question that everyone is
asking: why did messenger 4.7 suddenly stop working? I
had no problems until I updated from 4.6

Messenger 4.7.200x uses a more secure method of login (versus 4.6) that doesn't
subject your password to sniffing attacks. However, as the method uses SSL,
it's possible that your IE settings are making it difficult to get the SSL
connection established.
One common problem there is IE's "check for server certificate revocation"
routine. Try turning this off in IE's options dialog, on the advanced tab, near
the bottom, restarting Windows, and logging in again.
If this fails - let us know what dialog box appears, and we can go from there.

Tnaks fo the advice. My IE security is already set the
way you described. I get this message whenever ANYONE
attemps to sign in using this program, since I upgraded
it:
Signing in to .Net Services failed because the password
is incorrect or the sign-in name does not exist.
Now, I know this isn't true, so i'm wonderng what to try
next.
