Why doesnt my XP version let my friends on 98 see my
webcam even tho' they have up to date messenger? Help
anyone? In technophobic terms please?

Greetings,
The built-in Messenger video support in Windows XP (the "Start Camera") is only available for
Windows XP Messenger clients. You have a few options if you want to conduct a video
conversation with a client not using Windows XP. The person on the previous version of
Windows can use the Actions menu, Start Netmeeting option to start Netmeeting with the
contact (which is included in Windows XP), although the option isn't there by default in the
XP Messenger versions or you can both use MSN Messenger 5 and the built-in webcam support:
