icons are gone!

Help, all my icons, files, everything is gone off of my
desktop any suggestions on how to get it back?

Open XP's System Restore program and select a Restore Point that
was created prior to your problem becoming known.

[Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore]

disable desktop clean up wizard . see help and support centre for info.
