installing windows messenger 5 on winxp

hi I downloaded msn messenger 5 from your msn.com
the msnmsg.msi file would run the install shield
but it wont install, I tried closing all programs but
still wont install

can any one help me?

Greetings to you 2,

none, just says : "This installation was inturrepted no
changes were made your coputer system. Pleas try
installing again"

I opened the file & extracted it to the messenger folder
manually it seems working fine, not sure what I did was
correct though.

Hi,

Under Windows XP, you should be able to just copy the files and it should work without a
problem. I'm not sure specifically what the problem was however.

hi the problem was just the installer .msi it didnt
install & I was just wondering what I did was correct or

Just running the .msi should do it (you didn't do anything wrong), but like I said, I'm not
sure what the problem was.

There may be a problem with the Microsoft Installer files.

You might want to try the fix available at Kelly Theriot's website

Fix

After running the above script, try the installation again
