Does anyone know if the new MSN Messenger 6.0 will provide a video interface
with Windows XP's Windows Messenger?

Greetings Joel,
It does (if you've managed to obtain a copy, it's found in the Actions menu, "Start Video
Conference") -- however, the default "Webcam" option uses the Logitech-based software (which
is now built-in, previously for 5.0 at http://messenger.msn.com/support/webcam.asp).

I was sent a copy, but have not intentions of installing. I will wait for
the offical version from Microsoft. The soft ware from Logitech for the MSN
5.0 is not good. I deleted it after two uses.
However, I really need for the video portion of the new MSN to be able to
video interface with the Windows Messenger of XP.

I may have ask the wrong question. The real question is will it interface
and work with a person using WINDOWS MESSENGER that is running on a XP
machine. I get the impression from reading the info that the XP machine has
to have MSN Messenger and this also.

Hi Joel,
Yes, it's fully compatible (except the new features like custom emoticons, display pictures
and that Logitech-based webcam software). Text, file transfers, voice/video ("Video
Conference"), Remote Assistance, etc. is all compatible with past versions.
