Is it possible to have my screensaver automatically de-
activated while I am signed on to Messenger ?
I find that if I am having a video conversation and the
screensave kicks in (because I haven't used the mouse or
touched the keys for a while) then the person I am
talking to gets a message that I have gone offline, and
our connection goes.....
Advice please!(of course I can keep moving the mouse, but
that is a bore and if I am having a complicated
discussion then I may well be taking notes manually and
not thinking about the mouse.)

Greetings Sarah,
I don't believe there's any way with just Windows to stop the screensaver from running with
just Messenger (or just a Messenger video conversation -- although this is a great feature
suggestion).
Of course, as I'm sure you're aware, to turn off the screensaver completely, right-click on
the Desktop, choose Properties, then Screen Saver tab, and under Screen saver choose (None).
There is one particular utility that I'm aware of that will actually stop the screen saver
from activating with specific applications called Tray Widget Pro:
http://www.twpro.com/v4/features/
In the meantime I've added this to my feature suggestion list, as I think this would be a
good feature to have.

Many thanks for your swift response, Jonathan. I don't
want to have to keep turning my screensaver on and off
manually (I will forget, anyway !) so will have a look at
the utility you sugggest to see if that will do the trick.
