I need to run a COBOL application in (żon?) a Windows XP machine. This used
to work in Windows 98 as a DOS application. Could it be possible to create a
shorcut in order to run in Windows XP?
I received a message about an answer but I seems that my message has been
deleted, so I posted again.
Thanks

Certainly is possible to do this.
1. Install the Cobol application on your XP machine in an appropriate
folder.
2. Right-click on Windows XP Desktop (anywhere but on the taskbar or an
existing icon) and select New - Shortcut.
3. Use the Browse function to locate the DOS executable file on the hard
drive. (You do remember the folder name and path where you put it don't
you?) :-)
4. Click on Next and give the new shortcut the name you want it to have
on your Desktop.
5. Click on Finish to exit.
Once the shortcut is complete then you can modify the parameters for it by
right-clicking on the desktop icon and selecting Properties.
Good luck
