I'm trying to get the filetransfer from messenger working
in the following configuration:

PC 1 - connected to the internet, with XP firewall and
internet connection sharing: after configuring the
firewall, I can use filetransfer. (windows XP)

PC 2 - connected to the internet via PC 1: here I cannot
use filetransfer from messenger. (windows 98)

On both PC's I use messenger 5.

Any idea how to get things working?

Greetings Frank,

This should work, because the Windows XP Internet Connection Sharing supports Universal Plug
and Play (UPnP), which MSN Messenger 5 can use to get through ICS (NATs). You might just try
turning off the XP firewall to see if that has any effect.
