whenever I try to see someone's profile and so on, the screen that comes up
always appears in Chinese. Any ideas why and what I can do to sort it out?

You have set Chinese be the first language in Internet Options?

no... I work on a Spanish keyboard and that's the only language I have under
Internet options.

Greetings,
You may be seeing things in Chinese because your Passport is set to China (or similar
country). To check, go to:
https://register.passport.net/editprof.srf and check to see which country you're using. As
well, make sure "Share my other registration information" is saved at the bottom.
If that doesn't work, you might have some old cookie stored which is causing this. Open up
Internet Explorer, click the Tools menu, then Internet Options, and then click the Delete
Cookies button.
