What is the difference between a Video conference and a webcam conference in
the new 6.0?

Greetings,
The "Webcam" feature is Logitech-based video (just like this add-on in MSN Messenger 5:
http://messenger.msn.com/support/webcam.asp) whereas the Video Conference is the same
voice/video conversation feature that is in Windows Messenger and MSN Messenger 5 on Windows
XP.

Jonathan
I went to the website but I cannot find any substantial feature differences
listed. Do they "funtion" the same. Is there a case where one is better
than the other. Do they have the same problems running behind an NAT
router?
Thanks

Hi,
No, they actually function quite differently. In terms of the Logitech-based software, it
can use a central server, instead of a direct connection, which allows it to get around NATs,
firewalls, etc. (with a performance cost). With the built-in Windows XP video/voice ("Video
Conference") the only way for it to be used via NATs is when the NAT supports Universal Plug
and Play (UPnP) or other third-party software is used to get around it (like ENat for
Messenger).

Hi Joel,
There's a leaked beta going around that you can probably find if you look hard enough, but
there is no official version available to the public.

Well, I found a download, but the real question is:: 1. Does it work? 2.
Can it be uninstalled, if needed. 3. Will it cause any problems?

Hi Joel,
Can't really answer those since it's not an unofficial release, but judging from other
feedback, it seems to be fine (assuming you got it from the same source).
