Hello,
i seem to have a problem for about a month now and
nothing i have tried makes it stop.
My PC restarts with no obvious reason. The only thing i
could think of was that it heats up and that's why it
shuts down but it doesnt make sense cause it seems to
shut down only when i watch videos.
On the other hand i have always used my pc for watching
videos and I know it didnt use to restart then.
I formatted and even fdisked my hard drive but nothing
changed. It still shuts down moments after i try to play
a video file.
This is my conf: 2.8Gh Intel, 1GB RAM, 64MB video RAM.
Any help would be appreciated.

Assuming the problem is not hardware related...
You should look into getting
i) the latest video drivers for your video card
ii) the latest AGP drivers for your motherboard
iii) the latest bios update for your motherboard
iv) the latest version of the codec that you are using
All these things could contribute to the issues you are seeing.
Also, see what errors you have in your event viewer at the time of the
restarts.

If you have Automatically Restart checked in My
Computer/Properties/Advanced/Startup and Recovery, the BSOD can flash so
fast as to be nearly invisible as the restart is enabled. Uncheck this
and see if you get an error message. Also check the Event Viewer for a
fault message at the time of the restart.

Overheating is the usual reason. Have you checked your fans etc.? In my
BIOS is a page where one can see the fans' speeds and the various voltages,
and stuff. There is also a program - Winbond Hardware Doctor - which used
to run on my Abit mobo, which gives the same info, but a recent download of
the latest version will not run, and neither will the original supplied
with the mobo.
