I have been unable to connect to the internet and I think it might be
because I have two Winsock files (I've checked everything else I can
think of, and network pings go through and back).
So, I have a WINSOCK.DLL in C:\I386 and a winsock.dll in
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32
So I went to attempt to change the name of the file in c:\I386, but
cannot due to "Cannot rename file: Cannot read from the source file or
disk". Is it really there? How can I rename get rid of this (if this
is wise). Might not even be the issue.
Also, what else could be preventing proper connection to the Internet?
It's not the network card or modems (I've tried three). It's something
in Windows. No device conflicts. When I try to release the IP at
IPCONFIG/Release or renew, nothing happens.
Ideas?
