.dat files

I accidentally changed the program that opens .dat files
to open with Windows Media Player. Which program is the
CORRECT one to open .dat files ?
I appreciate any help.

Windows XP doesn't come with any programmes that open .dat files. There are
some that you can find however, I believe one comes with Kazaa Lite.

Hi Matt,

..dat files can be associated with many programs. If you created a =
permanent association, delete .dat from the listings of file types in =
folder options.
