the router problem is almost over.

i tried to use old windows messenger 4.7 for voice/video
with a friend.

for those who don't know. i'm behind a router Linksys
BEFSX41. after testing, testing and alot of testing, i
finally managed to do next thing:

- i CAN see and hear person on the other side
- person on the other side CANNOT see or hear me!

i checked also, if some ports are still runing "msmsgs"
or something like that in internet connections, but they
don't. so i assume, the problem is at my side, because i
can see and hear him, he cannot see or hear me.

any other chances to solve this mistery???

thanks

If you can see and hear the person on the other side and if you get picture
in picture than I would say that other person is having the problems, is it
the same if you call them or they call you?

Gregor,
I have the same router. You did put your computer in the router's DMZ
zone, right? It works fine after that. Well, it did on mine anyway... Let
me know.. We'll walk through it if you need.

later.

I had the exact same problem... :-)

Download the latest firmware from Linksys to enable Universal Plug and Play.
Did that for my X81, and it fixed the problem, no hassles. Just make sure
UPnP is enabled on the PC.
