Hey Jonathan
Since my last desperate appeal for help I have gone
through the various instructions that I have received and
discovered that I had overlooked enabling UnPP on both my
and my son's computers. I also received some advice from
LinkSys telling me to make sure that UnPP and the
Internet Gateway control were enabled, as you told me.
Linksys went on to say to check the start up services to
ensure that both start automatically when booting up. I
found UnPP, but I can't see the Internet Gateway
Discovery and Control Client anywhere. What is the name
that would be displayed under services in msconfig? I
should mention that it's my son's computer that is
working through the router, not mine, if that makes a
difference.
Another piece of advice I received was to go to Internet
Connections and check for an Internet Gateway Icon. I
had my son check, and all that is there is the High Speed
Connection Manager, and his wireless card. Should there
be something else there, or is the High Speed Connection
Manager the gateway?
I hope that I'm getting closer!

I do have SP1. As I said, I found it in the Windows
component, now I'm looking for it under services in
msconfig.
