Hi There

There may be a really simple answer to my questions but i
haven't been able to work them out yet!

I have installed messenger 5.0 and am able to sign into
this fine, however when i close the active window box
down i am signed out of messenger. I know on version 4.7
the icon remained at the botton right corner of my screen
and continued to run in the background but with 5.0 the
icon only remains on the screen while the window is open.

Is there a way to have this version run in the background
once i have signed in?

I have been using version 4.7 in the meantime but have
had problems with this as well. Messenger is still
running in the background but it is not correctly showing
who is online/offline and after about 30 minutes of not
using it i find that it still shows people online who i
know are offline.

Can you help?

Many thanks
Nisha

Greetings Nisha,

To correct this, just right-click the MSN Messenger 5 icon in the notification area (system
tray -- by the clock), choose Exit, then download and run the following .reg files:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/downloads/msn5_runbackground.reg

After running/importing, click Start, then (All) Programs, MSN Messenger 5 to restart MSN
Messenger 5. When you click the 'X' now, it should just go down the taskbar as it should.
