Access is denied in Recovery Console

Hi. I am trying to restore my machine from a corrupted
registry using Knowledge Base Article 307545. I can't get
past Part 1 - Step 1. Any "md" or "cd" command is
returned with Access is denied. Knowledge Base Article
309531 is no help since I can not get out of Recovery
Console. Any thoughts out there?

Post a full transcript of your session.

You can install XP into another folder and use that to fix the first =
copy, then delete the second copy. The recovery console is crippled by =
design.
