Keep this in mind: I am using Linksys BEFSR41 Cable/DSL
Router. My friend is using Linksys BEFSX41 Cable/DSL
Router. I have the latest firmware version and my friend
has 1.43.4, Oct 03 2002, he don't use last firmware
because alot of people mentioned upnp bug in it (1.44).

If I send a request for video conferencing via Windows
Messenger or MSN Messenger, my friend is able to see me
via video and can hear just fine. However, I cannot see
him. When my friend sends the request, Windows/MSN
Messenger errors out stating it could not connect.

We both have UPnP enabled on the routers. We are both NOT
in the DMZ. When my friend goes into the DMZ, he restarts
messenger but nothing changes for the better, nor does it
get worse.

My friend is connecting directly into the router (port #3
I think). He used to be connecting via a switch that was
in the router, but that made the issue worse.

We are both running Windows XP w/ SP1 installed. We are
both running Windows with the UPnP service
started "automatically".

Any ideas on what we can try? We are kinda stuck on this
one.

There are lots of message threads relating to your problem at:-

I think that your friend may need to update to a later version
firmware, where UPNP is fixed (such as 1.44.11t) Linksys support will
probably send you a copy if requested.
