Remote Services

I am trying to connect and use services on a remote server. This has worked
previously, and the change is the profile I used got deleted and has been
recreated.

I understand that the id and password I log onto my local machine is what is
used to log onto the remote server.

My problem is I can see the services on the remote server, but have lost
access to actually stop/start them with the error message Access denied.

Is there any way I can log on to the remote server, or even identify why the
access is denied?
