>I had the exact same problem and I have one DEFINITE
suggestion for you. I was stupid enough to call the long
distance "HELP" # for Microsoft and the following is an
honest and truthful story.
I spent 3 days, 6 different phone calls with 6 different
techs and more than 7 hours actually on the HELP line and
the final outcome was that the 5th tech walked me through
the process of making a CLEAN install of XP that was to
run along side my ME and I was to be able to select which
system would run at sign in. Long story short he did not
do it correctly and I had a nice clean new install of XP
but I was no longer able to access ME or any of the
programs or files contained therein. I had to take my
computer to a local computer store and pay $150 to have
my docs retrieved, hard drive wiped out and all
reinstalled. This is a true story that only happened
this week. I'm no computer idiot, but had no idea what I
was getting myself into with the HELP line. Those guys
had no clue...kept putting me on hold to ask someone
else, etc...I should have known better. Please learn
from my mistake!!!
