Somebody told me that Windows XP have a tool helping
with migrating from old PC to new PC. He told me, that
if both computers see each other on the network it
should be easy to move all application installed on
old pc to the new one, including data files...
He has never done it himself, so I am turning to you:
1. Is it true? what is the tool name under Windows XP?
2. How is solved the compatibility problem, if the
old computer has Windows NT and applications were
installed in their versions for that old operating system?

Thanks - I will try it. It makes sense the programs need to
reinstalled - I did not think it was possible to move them.
My buddy must have been misinformed...
