Problems with command line window running at startup

I am using windows XP home.
I just finished installing updates, after
I completed the updates I now have a Command prompt window that
launches everytime I start windows. It launches:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\carpserv.exe
I can disable carpserv.exe on startup, but I have no idea of what
program(s) it is controlling. Any help will be appreciated.

Apparently, the drivers for your modem need to be reinstalled.
