View Full Version : does XP block newsgroups?

I have a bizzare situation. When I connect to teranews and
try and download messages from an ACTIVE newsgroup that
they carry, I get a message in my newsreader that this
group doesn't contain any messages. But it does contain
messages, because I can read them from another PC (same
server and account--so it's not the server). I've used
Agent, News Rover and Outlook express. I've refreshed
group lists and downloaded ALL headers (not just new
ones), but nothing appears in the group when I use this PC
(which runs XP). Does anyone know if XP maintains settings
to block newsgroups? The problem seems to be with my PC or
OS, because it effects all newsreaders I use and doesn't
exist when I use my news account from another pc. I
haven't the slightest clue what's going on. Could someone
please help?
