I am trying to migrate an important MS-DOS program which ran in Windows 95
over to Windows XP to be run in compatibility mode.

I know that the program required a certain setting in the config.sys file,
but when I try to copy the config.sys over from 95 to XP it does not appear
to be on the copy disk. Is config.sys taboo for XP?

Anybody shed light on this?

Thanks.

Paul

Greetings --

WinXP doesn't use Config.sys at all. Instead, add the relevant
entries to the Config.nt file.

Hi Paul,

Config.sys is not used in WinXP. Go to the System applet in the Control =
Panel, on the advanced tab click "environmental variables". Place your =
needed settings under system variables.
