hi all

Interesting technical problem I've been racking my brains out to solve.

We have two sons who use the internet to chat using MSN Messenger. One of
the sons is ok and we trust him but the other is a problem and we want to
stop him using MSN Messenger completely. We've banned him but sometimes he
just cant resist.

Ideally what I'd like is a small password protected program that I can run
from the desktop that toggles the ports MSN Messenger uses (ports 1863 and
80?) off and on.

I know software like Norton Internet Security would do this but I dont want
to go that path just to stop this one problem program from operating.

Any suggestions?

thanks
Peter

Peter,
If you are using XP or Win2K, couldn't you setup accounts - for each
person? Then you, as Admin, would have to install or permit
installation of any programs to any of the accounts. And as each account
would have it's own password, you would be able to keep a tighter rein
on what programs are being used.

If you are using 98 you may have to use 3rd party software:
