I am not running the passport program, but continue to
get pop-up boxes asking me to sign in, or saying that a
request cannot be completed because the Microsoft.NET
Passport service could not be found or did not respond.
I have done a removal of this and just don't know what
else to do. This happens when I am in the C
drive...documents and settings...owner, my recent
documents. When I click to clear the documents...this
pop-up box appears...someone please help me get of this
annoying thing!

Greetings Gail,

I'm not exactly sure why you're getting the Passport sign-in box when you go to "My Recent
Documents". However, I'm curious to what happens if you use the "normal" method to remove
the Recent documents? To do so, right-click the Start button, choose Properties, make sure
that 'Start menu' (not Classic) is chosen, then choose the Customize button, then click the
Advanced tab, and under Recent Documents, click the 'Clear List' button.
