Can someone offer some assistance??
I bought an upgrade version of xp home.
But I wanted to do a clean install, so I ran an fdisk made from windows 98.
I formatted and created a new partition, and then booted directly from the
windows xp cd.
No problem, but it asked me to insert my version of 98 in cd player for
eligibility.
I think that this must have somehow shown up as a "ghost" operating system.
Now every time I start my computer, I am asked which operating system I want
to run:
Microsoft windows XP or
Microsoft windows (which does not exist)
I have 30 seconds to make a choice or it defaults to xp.
However I find this very annoying, how can I stop the computer thinking I
have two operating systems?????
