Why is messenger on xp not compatible with windows 98 or
2000? What do I have to do to make all three compatible so
we can chat and see each other. Dealers told me xp has
been upgraded so this will not happen, but so far I find
them all wrong.Please help.

Greetings Lorne,
All Windows Messenger versions can communicate using text or voice with one another.
However, built-in video support is currently limited to Windows XP users only. If you want
to use video with others on previous versions of Windows, just ask them to use Netmeeting
(they go to their Actions menu and choose Start Netmeeting, this option isn't on by default
in Windows XP) or if everyone is using MSN Messenger 5, you can use the Logitech Webcam

Hi Jonathan
I think your response may have solved my problem with Xp
and 98 video/audio problem. Can i just say that your
replies do not sound condescending in anyway unlike a
certain individual who replies often to our messages (does
he think we are stupid??).
thanks again
