Jonathan,

I am using XPHE. I have an Audigy card. I have a Logitech
Quickcam Messenger. I am having NO success audio OR video
conferencing with friends with similar machines using XP,
etc. We are able to type instant messages, but audio and
video is a no go. If I attempt to send video, I see a
black screen in the box in the upper right corner. They
tell me that they see the same thing, then disconnect
follows. I run both Zone Alert and Norton Firewall, but
disabling them is no help. Same problem.

I can do audio and video using Yahoo Messenger with these
people with absolutely no problem. We are making the
effort to use Messenger 4.7 because we would enjoy full
duplex and fast video speed versus the very hesitating
video of Yahoo and the necessity to use military speak
("over" and "out").

I am at my wits end. I have read as much as I can find.
Your FAQ and help menu is not particularly helpful with
all due respect. Why does this have to be so difficult?
Why is Yahoo so unbelievably easy to set up and implement?

Enough venting. What the hell am I doing wrong? I have my
wife's laptop loaded with XPHE and Messenger 4.7 in the
next room. It has a sound card. Again, I can send her
messages, just no audio or video. What's the deal with
that?

Thank you most sincerely - just very frustrated!
