I have a laptop running XP Home edition. Recently got a
3rd-party firewall and my Windows Messenger (v. 4.7.2009)
jammed up, won't sign out or cancel. Meanwhile, I
downloaded and installed the update, MSN Messenger (v.
5.0.0544), and it won't sign in today. Meanwhile, if I
try to use my Earthlink email ofline, I keep getting
connection pop-ups I believe are from one or the other
Messenger. Online now, neither version will sign in or
out as instructed. I'drather dump them both an stick
with my AOL IM service. Anybody got any tips on how to
manage this? Return email .
