Shared Scaner?

I have a small infrastructure wireless network, I have three Windows XP
computers on the network. One is XP_Pro and the other two are XP_Home.

Currently, the printer that is connected to a USB port on one of the XP_Home
machines is shared for network printing, however, also attached to this
computer (using the parallel port) is a scanner.

What I want to do is to share this scanner with the other computers on the
network so that scanned data/pictures will not need to be managed to get to
the right computer.

I am not that bothered about setting this up, but I would be interested in
any theories or thoughts anyone may have,

Generally a scanner can not be shared on a network unless you
specifically bought an expensive scanner with that capability.
Windows does not intend for scanners to be shared since it is
necessary for you be at the scanner to scan something.

Your can scan and save to a shared drive.
