I just bought an eMachines computer with WindowsXP. I keep
having problems with my computer booting up and then
immediately shutting off and then rebooting again, etc. I
was told it was a device driver problem probably caused by
my Norton Internet Security program. I was told that I
need to install the Norton program and do all of the live
updates for it in a "clean boot mode". Has anyone else had
this problem with the computer booting up and then
immediately shutting off and then rebooting again and
again?

Boot from CD to start the Recovery Console,

then read setuplog.txt, and setupapi.log,

to see what happens when it boots.
